barn chic.

my own personal style is certainly barn chic and i am swooning over the fabulous elle decor spread on ellen & portia’s beautiful home.

clear winner.

i’m hard pressed to not like something with a rustic rope handle, even when paired with this more modern lucite piece.

dark floors.

these dark & glossy floors make the perfect match when set against a clean white palette of walls.

aflame.
loving the loft-like airiness surrounding this lovely fireplace. there is nothing like the roar of a fire for this lovely open space.
aflame.

my heart is aflutter with this vintage-rustic mantle styling. i love the contrast of the different subways serving as the clean backdrop to the pile of found antlers inside.

eat in.
I wouldn’t mind not bringing the family into formal dining with an eat-in kitchen like this. The high ceilings and rustic beams help to elevate even the most simple of meals.

a place to dine.
loving every bit of this minimal styling and use of reflective elements to bounce light across the space.
knit knits.

when it comes to knits, the chunkier the better in my rustic option. these nubby, organic washcloths are just what i need to cleanse my troubles away.

throw me some love.
recently received this amazing alpaca throw from mark and graham. love it to pieces.
grizzly.

even the scariest animals are beautiful when they come to life thru art. this little bear would be the perfect piece in a little boy’s, big boy room.

outdoor. indoor.

i love when the beauty of the outdoors mixes with the style and comfort of being indoors. i dream of having a studio that opens up to nature just as this little poolside nook does.

indoor. outdoor.
i have always yearned for this type of indoor / outdoor living. large doors of glass ready to open up letting in the perfectly seasonable breezes.
fashionable fridge.

the only thing cooler than a fridge is one this fashionable. black & gold makes certain the food never wins top honors in your kitchen.

unexpected pieces.

i just love when unusual and unexpected pieces are used in design work, like this pommel horse in this little nook. the uniqueness and new purpose of this piece gives the space just the high brow look it needs to stand apart from everything else out there.

to bathe in.
in case i failed to mention, my little 1956 bath is getting makeover. 1 down, 1 more needed. well, that one can wait a bit. i love the clean + simple look of white + grey + that is exactly what will be illustrated in my little bathroom, while staying in keeping with it’s 50′s charm.
