:ashley’s rue magazing picks.

we were so thrilled to be included in the 3rd issue of Rue Magazine (page 23) that was just released! those Rue ladies sure do know how to put out a great magazine, and have a great time doing it at the very same time. what sweethearts!

so, in a world with so much bubbly color, we wanted to show that there is a place for great neutrals to showcase their beauty. be sure to pop over to Rue to see the picks they included, but here is a look at all 10 picks submitted from my rustic point of view.

1. bobo’s intriging objects chandelier  2. a peace treaty ring  3. apolis market bag  4. dawn raulet painting 5. powwow teepee 6. leather ipad case 7. staub saucepan at williams-sonoma  8. match pewter spoon   9. macha ring 10. sea vees boots 11. serena & lily blanket 12. st. helena basil olive oil

a mangled mix of guilded twigs and straightened sparkles, the drama in this organic ring is simply undeniable. i met the delightful ladies behind avindy at the atlanta gift show and their work is truly a perfect reflection of this lovely mother + daughter team.

as you have likely come to discover, there is no place in my heart, nor my home where barn wood does not rest in perfect harmony. i simply adore this reclaimed wood adorning the kitchen space, giving whole new perspective to a rustic, hearty meal.

whimsy in white.

i have long-since been enchanted by the incanto collection by vietri. the delightful swirls. the fanciful ruffles. each groove & nook & teeny little cup. i adore the simplicity this brings in whitened pottery, making a seemingly perfect display of even the simplest of foods. a whimsical feast for the eyes.

the rustic side of layla grayce.

oh we absolutely swoon over the fabulousness of Layla Grayce, there is no mistaking it. and their adorable co-founder + friend Wendy, so when we learned there had been “neutral overtaking” on the homepage, well, we just couldn’t resist.

here are a few of my favorites from the site currently:

:a I have been a fan of designer Aiden Gray since first discovery, and this laundry cart is no exception.

:b and sweet lollia is at it again. i truly cannot resist anything bottled, it’s a weakness.

:c and let’s not forgo the simple adorableness of this sweet cream set of newborn neutrals.

:d nor is this romantic chair + ottoman set that i could cozy up with on any given day.

e: and the deep charcoaling of this alpaca blanket. oh, how i adore alpaca!

so pop over and let us know what you think of the neutral takeover on their homepage!

as if barns aren’t wonderful enough, oh to dream of living beneath ones walls! the lofty height of the pitch and dramatic balance of the white dining accompaniment, set off by the array of library style books makes my heart skip a beat. oh, elle decor, how I love this gorgeous pick from the latest issue – the rest of this home was just as simply rustic, fabulous as this neutral wonder.

cubes of neutral soapy-suds.

Cubes of neutral, soapy-suds stacked neatly by the faucet with a fragrance & beauty all of their own.

I simply adore these huge, french blocks of savon de marseille soap and myself have nice stack of them carefully propped up on an antique cement saucer next to my kitchen sink, carefully domed by a tall cloche to add a bit of height, while capturing the presence of these gorgeous soaps in all their glory.

simple beauty of old + modern

I adore what I like to call vintage modern. A mix of the old + new. These bowls are of modern lines, but with a vintage, matte patina.  I just love them, + hope you do as well.
